We have a class for equipping Christians on Sundays at 9 a.m. We are looking at basic principles of biblical counseling while studying and discussing the book, Loving Messy People.
Paul told Timothy, “Devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture” (1 Timothy 4:13). There are different ways we can obey that command, but one way we are pursuing that is by providing a weekly opportunity to read the Bible together in community.
On Thursday mornings, from 6:30 to 7:30, we get together at the church and read the Bible for a half hour, and then discuss what we have read for the rest of the time. Because parts of the Bible are difficult, there may also be additional reading assignments connected to the portion we are considering, which we ask individuals to read, summarize, and then comment on, so we can all grow in our understanding of God’s Word together.
Systematic theology is the result of systematically studying and then summarizing what the Bible teaches on a certain topic. During the fall, we will be looking at what God’s Word says about people and about the person of Christ. The discussion follows the 2nd edition of Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology and meets from 8 PM to 9:30 PM on Wednesday nights.
Monthly on a Saturday morning from 9 AM to 11 AM. For the 2021-2022 season, we will be studying God's attributes. We will also enjoy discussion time and light refreshments. Join us in learning more about the Lord and delighting in his character!
