Pastor’s Letter, Announcements, and Order of Service - Sunday, May 28, 2023

CBC,

In our walks, we face times when God doesn’t seem present. There are other times when we know God is present, but less certain if His presence is good news for us. In these times, the truth we know about God can become more challenging than comforting.

He could [fill in the blank]. But He’s not.

Psalm 77 is written about that point of our spiritual journey when it feels like God himself is the one keeping us awake at night (v.4).

What do you do when your distress doesn’t go away, even though you’re praying and remembering God’s character? What’s your next move when the truths about God should be really encouraging…but they’re not? How should you respond when you’re left wondering whether God has distanced Himself from you, maybe even, turned on you?

If that’s how you’ve been feeling, this Sunday is for you.

And if you’ve never felt that way, this Sunday is still for you, because you will have brothers and sisters who feel that way. Or you will feel that way. You are responsible to help them. And you can!

We all have tough questions as we live by faith. Come learn how to endure when we’re weary and how to help strengthen other weary saints.

And please, make a special effort to come to Equipping Hour. It’s going to be a real treat. Five of our brothers will be sharing what God has been teaching them. God will be put on display. This is what we’re here for. I can’t wait!

Grace and peace,

Isaiah
