Pastor's Letter, Announcements, and Worship Service Details - September 18, 2022

CBC,

My prayer for this Sunday is that you get a lot of Jesus Christ.

In our Equipping Hour at 9 a.m., we’re going to begin a new series about the blessings believers have because of their union with Christ. I’m praying that you’ll marvel at how generous God has been toward you in Christ Jesus. I hope this series will be like opening your bank account to find much more than you expected.

In worship service, we’re going to hear from Jesus’ half-brother James how we are to wait until Jesus returns. Christians are longing people, always eager for the arrival of our King. In James 5:7–11, we’re going to be taught how to wait and endure while we suffer. God is compassionate and merciful. As Job discovered after many tears, God’s good plan is to bring you more of Himself.

We’re also going to participate in the Lord’s Supper together. In communion, we remember together our union with Jesus, who died in our place, and we proclaim Jesus’ death until He returns.

Jesus is coming for those in Him. Hold on, saints. He’s on His way!

Isaiah

(Parents: If you read James 5:7–11, you guessed this Sunday’s word – "patient".)

Equipping Hour @ 9 AM

When God saves someone through faith in Jesus Christ, he does a miracle in their lives. Paul's two-word summary of the change that follows is "in Christ" or "in Him." The more you grasp the extent of the miracle of being "in Christ", the more you will glorify Christ with your life. Join us in Equipping Hour on a journey to unpack what it means to be "in Christ"!
